Elaine "Laney" Yates, 51, of Cabot passed away at her home on Friday, August 24, 2012. She was born July 29, 1961, in San Antonio, TX to James and Jean Edmonston House. Laney held a Master's degree and was employed by the State of Arkansas as the state sign language interpreter for the Arkansas Supreme Court in the Arkansas Courts. Laney was an amazing, kind hearted, very generous woman and a devoted mother and grandmother. She was an amazing worker and co-worker who was so very loved and will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her son, Matt Yates and his wife Cammy, of Austin, AR; four grandchildren, Matison and Noah Yates, Maddox Shiell and Gage Crosland; two sisters, Lynne Sharp and husband Ron of Quitman, AR, and Mona Hughes of The Woodlands, TX; and step-mother, Judy House of Little Rock. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim House and Jean Bruegeman.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 30, 2012 at the North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 29th. Memorials can be made to Arkansas Children's hospital or any adoption charity of your choice. Arrangements by North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main, 758-1170.
