E.J. Douglas Mabry

E.J. Douglas Mabry, a loving husband, devoted father, and hardworking individual, has passed away on August 8, 2023, in Benton, Arkansas. Born on August 14, 1941, in Plainview, AR.

E.J. dedicated several years of his life to his career at Arkansas Face Veneer before his well-deserved retirement. Beyond the confines of his professional life, E.J. found solace and joy in working on cars and spent countless hours tinkering under the hood.

However, E.J.'s greatest joy came from the love and companionship he shared with his family. Debra Mabry was not only his wife but also a constant source of support throughout their journey together. Together they built a beautiful life filled with laughter, growth, and endless love. His children, Nathane Mabry, Bernice Mabry, Judy Smith, Rhonda (Brad) Barnett, Jason (Misty) Blake, and Lori Harrison were profoundly fortunate to have E.J. as their father—a wise guide whose values they continue to carry in their hearts. E.J.'s legacy also extends to the next generation; he leaves behind eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, E.W and Audra Hass Mabry; 2 brothers, J.W. and A.W. Mabry; and an infant daughter.

E.J. will forever be missed by all who had the honor of knowing him. His warm smile, compassionate nature, and unwavering support touched the lives of countless individuals. The memories created while working on cars together or simply sharing moments of laughter will forever remain etched in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Friends and family are invited to attend the services honoring E.J.'s life. The visitation will take place on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at Smith Benton Funeral Home, 322 N Market St., Benton, AR, at 10:00 AM, a funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM. A burial service will be held at Reed Cemetery in Story, AR, at 2:00 PM.

In this time of grief, let us come together to celebrate the remarkable life of E.J. Douglas Mabry. Though he may no longer be physically present with us, his spirit and the love he shared will continue to live on in our hearts forever. May we find comfort in the cherished memories we carry and draw strength from the lasting impact he had on each of our lives.
