Edwin “Nose Brunt” Dewayne Brunt, age 81, of Glenwood, passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2023.
He was born on April 20, 1941, in Arkadelphia, the son of Sherman Jackson Brunt and Cora Lee Burnett Brunt. He was preceded in death by his father, Sherman Brunt; his mother, Cora Smith; two brothers, Tommy Brunt and Jamie Brunt; and one sister, Carolyn Brunt.
Edwin was a United States Army disabled veteran, having served during the Vietnam War as a Sergeant E5. Upon his return from military duty, Edwin worked in the log woods as a skidder driver for over thirty years. He was employed for many years for J.D. and Ruth Morris and towards the end of his career, he worked for Johnny Roberts. Edwin was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather to all his children and grandchildren. He truly lived a long, happy life and would not want tears to fall for him in sadness, but be joyous that he will cross through the pearly gates of heaven to join his father, mother and brothers which have gone before him. His sense of humor and his caring nature will be missed by all that knew him on this earth. Edwin touched the lives of so many throughout his lifetime and gave unconditionally to everyone.
He is survived by his wife, Janeice Brunt of Glenwood; one sister, Janet Emory of Hot Springs; his children and their spouses, Patricia and Darrell Green of Denver, Colorado, Dianna and Chris Self of Kirby, Byron Brunt and Kelli Mount of Amity, Chad Brunt of Hot Springs Village, and Johnathan and Danielle Brunt of Mount Ida; his grandchildren and their spouses, Deven and Valerie Dickerson, Michael and Savanna Massie, Steven Self, Johnathan Self, Tanner Brunt, Shaylie Mount, Kayla Moore, Hayden Brunt, Jaxon Brunt, Addison Brunt, Jax Brunt, Dustin and Stacy Green, Dylan Green and Ashley Green; his great-grandchildren, Kayden, Dawson, Braylen, Alexia, Kinsley, Keegan, Magdylan and Dresden; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, April 7, 2023, in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood with Joan Brown Edwards officiating.
Visitation will be held Friday, 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood, 209 North Third Street, Glenwood, Arkansas 71943.
