Edwarda Sunderland Wayne, 92, of Scott passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2012. She was born October 27, 1919 in England, Arkansas. She graduated from England High School and attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
Edwarda married James Robert "Bob" Wayne in March of 1943. The couple made their home in the Scott community. In 1998, Mrs. Wayne moved to Old River Lake, where she resided with her son, Robert the last few years. Edwarda was active in many community events, especially enjoying The Scott Connection and All Souls Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, E.N. and Florence Sunderland; husband, Bob; daughter, Anne Wayne Howell; sister, Martha Harvey and sister-in-law, Mabel Headley. Edwarda is survived by her son, Robert; sister, Marilea Hutchison; granddaughters, Mandy Lynch and Alex Nichols; and great-granddaughter, Kinley Oholendt. She had nephews and nieces in Florida, Texas, New Jersey, California and Arkansas.
An avid world traveler, Edwarda will be missed by her many friends and family in the United States and abroad.
Donations may be made in her memory to All Souls Church in Scott, Arkansas.
A memorial service will be held 11:30 a.m., Saturday at All Souls Church. Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday at Oakland Cemetery in Little Rock. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest registry at www.nlrfh.com.
