Edward Talley, 91, of Cabot, Arkansas, died January 11, 2009. Edward was born November 3, 1917, in Illinois to Ed and May Ellen Dietz Talley. He was a wonderful husband and father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and was loved and respected by all who knew him. Edward was in the 22nd Infantry, Battle of the Bulge in Europe during WWII and received the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He was retired from Russell Chevrolet as an auto mechanic. Edward was a member of Cabot First Baptist Church. He was an avid gardener and fisherman,
He was preceded in death by his wife Dixie Talley; one brother and three sisters. He is survived by one son, Lynn Edward Talley and wife JoAnna of Williston, Tennessee; one daughter, Doris Ann McCarter and husband Ronald of Olive Branch, Mississippi; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; one brother, Marion Talley of North Little Rock; and one sister, Aileen Spires of Cabot.
Family will receive friends beginning at noon Tuesday, January 13, 2009, at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe, with funeral to follow at 2:00 p.m. V.A. Chaplain Silas Redd will officiate. Burial will be in Sylvania Cemetery.
