Edward Robert Strohmayer went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, February 18, 2024, in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He was born to the late Edward A. Strohmayer, and Helen G. Bednarz-Strohmayer in Syracuse, New York, on February 1, 1941.

He is preceded in death by his loving parents, as well as two sisters: Bernita and Marilyn.

Edward served honorably in the U.S. Navy for many years and went on to find a career as a Mechanical Designer on Submarines for Gen Dynamics. In his leisure time, Edward found solace in nature as an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He also loved to be surrounded by his family creating lasting memories and traditions. He will be greatly missed by family and friends and all those who knew and loved him. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Mary Ann Albanese-Strohmayer; two daughters, Lisa Kurnik, and Mary Lynn (Dave) Mailloux. He was also blessed with two grandchildren; David, and Sebastion; two sisters Jeanette Wilson, and Katie DeRito. He was seldom seen without his canine friend "Baby Girl". 

There will be a Rosary at 9:30 am on Friday, February 23, 2024, with a 10:00 am Mass at St. Johns Catholic Church, Hot Springs.

In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to Jackson House or Catholic Charities.
