Edward McCoy, 72, of Little Rock, passed away March 21, 2010. He was born in Dermott, Arkansas on May 9, 1937 to Harvey and Lucinda Stanberry McCoy. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was retired from the Veterans Administration. He enjoyed making birdhouses, building shelves and other crafts, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn McCoy; brother, Elbert McCoy (Irene) of Little Rock; sisters, Doris Cook of Omaha, Nebraska, Essie Giles and Lula McCoy, both of Little Rock, Cora Moore (Lee V.) and Bertha Neal (Richard), both of Dermott; and a host of nieces and nephews. Edward was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.
Services will be held on Friday, March 26 at 9:30 a.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.). Interment with Military Honors will follow at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock. Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of Arkansas, 1818 N.
