Edna Claudine Dixon Avant age 86 of Bismarck died Thursday in Arkadelphia. She was born January 3, 1924 the daughter of John W. and Addie Chancellor Dixon. She was the former owner of Avant's Bridal Shop in Hot Springs and a member of the Oak Bower Church of Christ. She was preceded is death by her husband J. Woodrow Avant and four brothers, Doye, Rush, James and Johnny Dixon.
Survivors include a son, Dwight Avant and wife Kayla of Bismarck, two daughters, Delores Alford of Hot Springs, Quenteena Scalercio and husband Ken of Bismarck, a brother David Dixon and wife Edith of Bismarck, five grandchildren James Avant of Pearcy, Scott Avant of Bismarck, Kenny Scalercio of Bismarck, Marla Alford of Marion, Deanna Keenan of Malvern and five great grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be 2 PM Monday in the Greenwood Cemetery in Hot Springs with Sister Nellie Looper officiating. There will be no formal visitation.
