Edmund Banaszak, 95, of North Little Rock passed away Thursday, December 17, 2015. He was born November 15, 1920 in Marche, Arkansas to Edward and Antonia Gubanski Banaszak. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, a World War II Army Veteran, and received three Purple Hearts with Oak Leaf Cluster and a silver and bronze star.
He is survived by his grandchildren, Leo Chwalinski (Sherry), Louis Hoover, Christina Wevers, Davalyn Sims (James), John Mercer, Dan Lynch and Tammy Reeder (Jim); two sisters, Cecelia Zakrzewski and Irene Banaszak; several great and great-great-grandchildren and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Estelle; two daughters, Mary Lynch and Evelyn Phillips, son, Ben "Nicky" Banaszak; and two brothers, Alois and Victor Banaszak.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Smith - North Little Rock Funeral Home followed by a rosary service at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
