Edith Thomason

Edith Estelle Thomason of Alpine ascended to her heavenly home on February 27th, 2020 at age 81.

Edith was born to Cassie Fern (Garner) and Charlie Thomason on January 16th, 1939 in Alpine, Arkansas. As a child, she taught herself how to play the piano by ear and was raised on a firm foundation of love and faith in God.

Edith met the love of her life, Billy Thomason, when they were young children. She won his heart by bringing over a fresh strawberry cake she baked when she was a teenager. They married on October 10, 1958 and went on to raise four daughters, Teresa, Linda, Loretta, and Amanda.

In addition to being a dedicated and loving wife and mother, Edith also loved cooking and listening to southern and bluegrass gospel music. Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her. She encouraged all of her children and grandchildren to live for the Lord and learn to play an instrument. She thoroughly enjoyed playing the piano and singing gospel songs and hymns.
