Edith Ross Elrod, 81, of Little Rock, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2009. Born October 10, 1927 in Mabelvale, Arkansas to John Coin Ross and Katherine Kling Ross, she retired as a manager with Democrat Printing and Litho after 24 years and was a member of First Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her loving husband, Roy Gordon Elrod; son, Randy (Elizabeth) of Little Rock; daughters, Teresa McCain (Larry) of West Memphis and Rhonda Elrod of Little Rock; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Virginia Venable of Florissant, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Johnny G. Ross and Wallace Ross and three sisters, Louise Faulkner, Verna Hudson and Kathryn Walters.
Visitation will be held this evening, Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), Little Rock. Graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 23 at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, officiated by Rev. Paul Jilg. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran School or the charity of one's choice.
