Edith Clayton Erckman Colfer, 94, of Little Rock, Arkansas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 10, 2010. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 29, 1916. Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Colfer, parents, Everette T. Clayton and Minnette J. Ahlborn Clayton and her son, Paul C. Erckman..
She is survived by her daughter, Judith Erckman Stewart (Ray); daughter-in-law, Diane Pedersen Erckman of Naperville, Illinois; grandson, Mathew R. Stewart (Rhonda) of Rogers, Arkansas, great-granddaughter, Meredith and grandson, Clayton P. Stewart (Kayla) and great-grandchildren, Mason, Josie, Hallee and Corrianna, all of Russellville, Missouri.
Edith was a long time member of South Park Church in Park Ridge, Illinois and is now a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Little Rock. She retired from The Sunbeam Corporation in Chicago. Edith moved to Parkway Village in Little Rock in 2004 to be close to family. She had a zest for life and loved being with her family, church and friends. Edie and Frank enjoyed a full life together. They traveled extensively, leaving footprints in America, Canada and Japan and sailed on several cruises.
We would like to thank the Elizabeth Sunday School class at Immanuel Baptist Church for their prayers and support and for her friends and staff at Parkway Village. We also thank Baptist Hospice of Little Rock for their tender care of our loved one.
Services will be held on Sunday, December 12 at 3:00 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), officiated by Rev. Rick Jaggars. Visitation will precede the service at the funeral home, beginning at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Elmhurst Cemetery in Elmhurst, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Immanuel Baptist Church Building Fund.
