Edgar Wilbourn Jr. age 94, of Caddo Valley, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2015 in Arkadelphia. He was born August 8, 1920 in Muskogee, Oklahoma, one of seven children to Edgar Sherman Sr. and Mary Cashman Wilbourn.
Edgar was a U. S. Navy veteran, was involved in steel construction, insurance and real estate. He was longtime resident of the Modesto, California area. After moving to Caddo Valley, Edgar worked at the Arkadelphia Wal-Mart Store for over twenty-two years. He attended the Fellowship Church in Arkadelphia.
He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Dawn Marie Wilbourn and one daughter-in-law, Sara Wilbourn.
Survivors are his wife of seventy-four years, Darris Maxwell Wilbourn; one son, Edgar Wilbourn III and wife, Patti of Haymarket, Virginia; one daughter, Linda Wilbourn Holway of Caddo Valley; three grandchildren, Michael Wilbourn and wife, Trinity of Ft Collins, Colorado, Matthew Holway and wife, Jen of Hughson, California and Elanor Engler and husband, Johnny of Haymarket, Virginia; nine great-grandchildren, Malachi, Gabriel, Kyrie and Phoenix Wilbourn all of Ft. Collins, Colorado, Corri Barnett of Winton, California, Trenton Holway and wife, Patricia of Ft. Lewis, Washington, Robert Holway of Hughson, California, Brennan Holway of Taft, California and Ashley Lee Engler of Haymarket, Virginia and one brother-in-law, Carl Maxwell and wife, Frances of Arkadelphia.
Visitation will be 6-8 PM Thursday, August 6th at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home.
Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, August 7th at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home with Dr. Scott Jackson, Derrick Barnes and Dr. Scott Duvall officiating. Interment will follow at Caddo Valley Cemetery.
