Lou Simpson, age 85, of Arkadelphia passed away April 23, 2025. She was born July 25, 1939 in Amity, Arkansas to the late Ed Markham, and Oma Runyan and P.W. Ligon. She was a retired secretary at the Arkadelphia Human Development Center and a member of First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, L.A. Simpson; and sister, Pat Fisher.

Survivors include one son, Greg Freeman of New Braunfels, Texas; one daughter, Sonya Bridges (Thomas) of Bella Vista, Arkansas; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside services are 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 28, 2025 at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Arkadelphia with Reverend Michelle Amos officiating. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. Arrangements are by Smith Family Funeral Home-Arkadelphia/Ruggles-Wilcox Chapel, 517 Clay Street, Arkadelphia, Arkansas 71923, www.smithfamilycares.com.
