Earnie Matheson (73) , florist, decorator, and host extraordinaire, left this earth March 11, surrounded by family, friends & holding the hand of his husband, Rick Landers.

With a generous heart, Earnie was the light of his neighborhood, greeting all, and dishing out cookies, cake, and advice. He will be greatly missed by the motley crew he chose as family, who found healing at his table.

A celebration of Earnie's life will be held Saturday, March 26 at Smith-Benton Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM, with memorial service following at 11:00 AM. Stuffed animals may be brought for Children's hospital.

Earnie is survived by his husband, Rick, sisters Sharon Matheson (Roger) Lee; Glenda Matheson (Chuck) Hicks, brothers Daniel (Dawana) Craig; Lewis Matheson; Patrick (Barbie) Matheson and many nieces and nephews – whom he loved dearly. Earnie was preceded in death by his parents, Earnie Jefferson & Annabelle Perkins Matheson; husband Tony Chiaro; brothers Craig & Virgil Matheson, and Eddie Craig.
