Earnest Duckery's life long journey ended on January 13, 2012 in North Little Rock. He was 65 and a retired conductor with the Union Pacific Railroad. He was preceded in death by his father, Sherman Duckery, mother, Mary B. Duckery, brother, Junior Johnson and sister, Pearlie Mae Holloway.
He leaves behind two sisters, Catherine "Sister" (Freddie) Williams and Ruthie May Smith, and one brother, Herman Duckery. Earnest also leaves behind six children, Yolanda Duckery, Kelly Duckery, Chanda Duckery, Earnest (Valerie) Duckery, Krystal Duckery (Garrick) Moore and Rebecca (Joshua) Karriem; and five grandchildren, Kelly Duckery, Jr., Chris Bruce II, Julian Duckery, Malcolm Wilson-Duckery and Joshua Karriem II.
Services will be held on Friday, January 20 at 10:00 a.m. at Pilgrim Progress Baptist Church, 1401 N. Magnolia, North Little Rock, officiated by Rev. Gerald Parker, Sr. Burial with Military Honors will follow at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 1501 Maryland Avenue, North Little Rock. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.).
