Earl Hoover

Earl D. Hoover, of North Little Rock went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, September 14, 2011. He was born to Earl D. Hoover, Sr. and Mae Hoover on September 15, 1926.
Earl served in the U.S. Navy, World War II for four years. Two of those years was in the South Pacific Islands mostly in New Guinea (Cub 10, Unit 3115). After the war he returned to the states and was assigned to the U.S. Princeton CV37 Aircraft carrier for his remaining two years of service. After an Honorable discharge from the Navy, Earl returned to the states and went to work for Arkansas Power and Light (Entergy) for thirty seven years. He retired as there Distribution Superintendent. He has been a member of the IBEW for sixty plus years. After his retirement Earl worked for General Electric on the North Little Rock hydro plant. He was a lifelong Christian and loved spending time with his family and friends. He had a great group of fellow friends that he would meet with for coffee each morning at the McDonalds in Maumelle.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his late wife, Kathryn L. Hoover. Earl is survived by his wonderful wife of 37 years, Kathryn A. Hoover and his sister Rose Douville. He was blessed with four children, Donna Brown, Carla and John Scott, Debbie and Paul Ramsey, and Tim and Carol Crumpler. Grandchildren, Susan and Eric Tobey, Travis and Amber Ramsey, Brandi Edmondson, Crystal Edmondson, David and Chelsea Ramsey, Jennifer Hoss, Debbie Martinez and Larry Lester, also thirteen Great-Grandchildren and numerous, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Earl battled cancer for several years, and the family wants to express their gratitude to all whom have helped them through this journey.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Cedar Heights Baptist Church, 14510 Cedar Heights Road, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72118.
Services will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday at Cedar Heights Baptist Church. Burial will be in Pinecrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest registry at www.nlrfh.com.
