Earl Ray Garner of Arkadelphia went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 2, 2010 at his home. He was born June 10, 1947 to Calvin Ray and Alta Faye Jones Garner of Amity. He was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Baylee Bagwell.
Earl was retired from Union Pacific Railroad with 30 years of service and retired from U. S. Army Reserve after 22 years of service. He was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Arkadelphia. Earl was a loving and generous husband, father, grandfather and friend with a love for traveling. His favorite past times were anything to do with his families activities, gardening and tinkering on his mini farm with his precious donkeys, chickens and yellow labs. Earl was an avid sportsman who loved fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 43 years, Elizabeth Francis Garner; two daughters, Amy (Charlie) Williams and Jennifer (Brian) Bagwell both of Arkadelphia; one son, Jeremy (Jennifer) Garner of Rogers, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Jake and Julie Williams, Brett, Colby and Skylar Bagwell, Joel and Jansen Garner; seven brothers, Richard (Carolyn) Garner of Arkadelphia; Doyce (Peggy) Garner of Bryant; Jerry (Jane) Garner of Arkadelphia; Terry (Judy) Garner of Benton; Donnie (Jackie) Garner of Amity; Thomas (Gina) Garner of Amity; David (Carla) Garner of El Dorado; his mother-n-law, Julia Francis of Arkadelphia; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, April 6, at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. John Small and Rev. Charles Hargett officiating. Interment will be at Golden Cemetery in the Piney Community. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
