E. SIDNEY VAUGHN, JR., 88, of North Little Rock, died Wednesday, May 24.
He was born February 25, 1918, to the late Rev. and Mrs. E.S. Vaughn of Floyd,
Virginia. He graduated from Goshen High School and Washington & Lee University in
Virginia with a degree in Chemistry. During WWII, he worked at the government's
atomic project in Hanford, Washington. He was retired from the Remington Arms
Company with 43 years of service. In his retirement, he enjoyed golf, gardening, duck
hunting and reading. He was a member of Lakewood Methodist Church, Ducks
Unlimited and the American Chemical Society.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Eller Vaughn of North Little
Rock; son Sid and daughter-in-law Wendy Vaughn of Virginia Beach; son Scott and
daughter-in-law Janice Vaughn of North Little Rock and granddaughters Kristen Olson
of Virginia Beach and Emily Vaughn of North Little Rock. He was preceded in death by
his brother Max, and is also survived by sisters Dorcas Goodman and Edith Vaughn of
Lexington, Virginia, and Charlotte Keyes of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, along with several
nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel, 1921 Main St., 758-1170, Tuesday,
May 30, 10:00 A.M., Reverend Clint Burleson officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests
that gifts be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital.
