Dufffie L. Slaughter age 81, of Fordyce formerly of Arkadelphia, died Saturday, November 18, 2006 as a result of a four-wheeler accident. He was born September 14, 1925 in Amity, AR., the son of the late Willie Vernon and Lillie Burchfield Slaughter. Duffie was a retired carpenter and builder, a member of the Nazarene Church, a U.S. Air Force veteran of WW II and a member of the American Legion. He was preceded in death by two sons, Kelly Brice Martin and David Slaughter.
Survivors include one daughter, Frances Wilges of Fordyce; two brothers, Haskell Slaughter of Hot Springs, George T. Slaughter of Mt. Home; two sisters, Patsy Clifton of Hot Springs, Lucille Franklin of Batesville; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Monday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia.
