Dr. Lewis Bracy

Lewis F. Bracy of Little Rock died peacefully at Hospice Home Care due to complications of Alzheimer’s disease. He was 85.

Born September 11, 1935 the middle son of Pauline and Sam V. Bracy in Little Rock, he is a 1953 graduate of Central High School. After serving in the United States Marine Corp, he attended college at University of Arkansas Little Rock, University of Tennessee, and University of Oklahoma. He completed a PhD in Psychology at University of Southern Mississippi in 1970 and practiced clinical psychology in Little Rock for many years. In his clinical work, his main goal was to help patients find a more relaxed and peaceful way of being in the world through hypnotherapy, biofeedback, and other methods. Lew has been in a “caring profession” all his work life and when he retired he visited with friends at the nursing homes and helped those who were ill or in need as a member of Community of Hope Ministry at St. James United Methodist Church.

A lifelong resident of Little Rock, he loved his city dearly and supported the Arkansas Razorbacks passionately. He was happiest being on the go and taking part in all that Little Rock offers. He will be remembered for his kindness and warmth, his calm and patient demeanor, and his unique sense of humor.
