Drew Ashley, Jr.

Drew Ashley, Jr., age 54, of Amity, died Saturday, November 2, 2013. He was born on April 4, 1959 in Vallejo, California, the son of Drew Ashley, Sr. and Lavern Lambert Ashley. He was preceded in death by his father. Drew, Jr. worked for over 30 years as a grave digger, doing a lot of the cemetery work for funeral homes in this area. He especially enjoyed playing with his grandchildren. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Dustie and Chris Rice; his grandchildren, Jace and Tinley Rice; his wife, Debbie Ashley; and his mother, Lavern Ashley, all of Amity; his brother and sister-in-law, Dennie and Elizabeth Ashley of Conway; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Rena Williams of Hot Springs and Betty and Rob Wilson of Amity; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, November 5, 2013 in the Sweet Home Cemetery near Amity with Bro. Bobby Lock officiating. Visitation will be Monday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Paul Cauchi, Paul Pittman, Richie Richardson, Steve Wilson, Dennis Ward, David Lee Ashley, Everett Smith, Jr. and Tony Smith. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
