Doyne Franklin Ussery., age 67, of Little Rock passed away on Monday, December 8, 2008. He was born November 15, 1941, in Little Rock to Sybil Eubanks Ussery and the late Doyne Franklin Ussery Sr.
He is survived by his mother Sybil Ussery, wife Dorothy Logsdon Ussery, two daughters Robin Hampton (husband Paul) of Redfield, Whitney Nowlin( husband Billy) of Redfield, 7 grandchildren, two brothers Woody Ussery ( wife Sharon) of Alexander, Guy Ussery (wife Cindy) of Orland, CA, aunt Mildred McAlister of Ft. Worth, TX., many other relatives and a host of friends.
He joined the Navy in 1959 and served until 1965. He served on the submarine the USS Diodon.
He was a used car dealer in southwest Little Rock for over 20 years.
Anyone who knew Doyne (Franky) will think of all the smiles and laughter he has given us over the years. He had the ability to bring joy and laughter to almost everyone he met.
When you think of Doyne the word friend, fun, and laughter are the first things that come to your mind. He never took being a friend lightly; it was all or nothing for him. He was a friend with a heart and soul.
His faith for him was being a good person and giving himself to others the way the Lord intended for all of us to do. He did not believe you had to be in church to live a Christian life. His belief was to live it in the form of kindness, love and respect. The kindness might be the ability to bring a smile to someone, be a good listener, change a flat for a stranger, help someone get a car started, carry groceries to a car for someone and the list goes on.
He never met a stranger he did not like, because he knew that someday he would call them FRIEND!

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 12, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Huson Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2008 at Huson Funeral Home at 6400 Mabelvale Pike, Little Rock, Arkansas 72209.
