Doyle Biggs

Doyle Biggs, age 80, of Sherwood, Arkansas, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 5, 2018. He was the son of the late Virsil and Adeline Biggs and brother to the late Grady and William (Bill) Biggs.

Doyle is survived by the love of his life of 42 years, JoAnn; daughter, Teresa Biggs Adams (Shannon); stepson, Tony McClain (Diane); stepdaughters Vicky Wood and Sandra Powell (Roger); nine grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Doyle had a zest for life and lived it to the fullest. He was the consummate storyteller, jokester, and friend.

With a voracious appetite for the outdoors, it was there you would find him.  An avid hunter and angler, he shared his passion with intention...investing in tradition and legacy.

Fellowship was Doyle’s love language. He and JoAnn spent much of their time on the road ministering to their friends and family via visits and restaurant outings. “A stranger is a friend you haven’t met yet,” Doyle would say; therefore, he spoke with a lot of strangers and had many friends.

While a member at Calvary Baptist Church in Rose City (before moving membership to Sherwood First Baptist), Doyle enjoyed the position of RA Leader (Royal Ambassadors/missions program).  He loved children, and teaching those children about Jesus and the Great Commission filled him with joy.

He believed a job worth doing was worth doing well.  He was a man of principle with an old-school work ethic. Doyle dedicated 45 years of service to Timex.

“Leave it better than when you found it.”  And he did.  Through his humor, hospitality, and helpfulness, Doyle’s willingness to be available and positioned set the example.  He loved us well.
