Doyce "PaPa" Ward

Doyce “PaPa” Ward, age 94, of Mountain Pine, gained his wings and went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, August 15, 2022.

He was born on October 16, 1927, in Glenwood, the son of Loyd Ward and Eddie Whisenhunt Ward.  On February 8, 1949, he married Maxine Montgomery, who preceded him in death after 68 years of marriage.  He was also preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Garry Ward and Darrell Ward; one daughter-in-law, Melony Ward; and one granddaughter, Paige Ward.

Doyce was a member of Mountain Pine First Assembly of God Church and served as a deacon for most of his life.  He was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener and just a regular jack of all trades.  But he loved his family and loved serving God more than anything.  He was a loyal employee of Weyerhaeuser for 39 years.  PaPa will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.

He is survived by his daughter-in-law and son-in-law, Cathy and Larry Joe Gilbreth of Hot Springs; four grandchildren, Shane Ward of Mountain Pine, Ginger McEarl of Alexander, Ashley and Kale Johnson of Mountain Pine and Amber Ward of Mountain Pine; one great-granddaughter, Candye and Josh Gamez of Mountain Pine; Nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
