Douglas James Hale, 72, of Birmingham, Alabama, formerly from North Little Rock, Arkansas after a long illness passed away, March 12, 2008. Mr. Hale retired from McGraw Hill Corp. after 33 years of service in sales and management. He held sales and managerial positions in Arkansas, Texas, New Mexico, Washington D.C., Alabama and New York. Douglas retired from corporate life with McGraw Hill at headquarters in New York.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Morris J. Hale and Ethel V. Hale; his brother, Bill Hale all of North Little Rock and his wife Cathy Hale of Birmingham, Alabama. He is survived by his two sons, Stephen Douglas Hale of Nevada and Christopher James Hale of Alabama and their mother, Connie Hale of Florida.
Douglas was loved and supported in his battle with cancer by his large family of brothers, sister, nieces and nephews by whom he will always be loved and remembered. William & Jean Hale, Frances Bratton of North Little Rock, Clifton & Nettie Hale of El Dorado, Raymond & Connie Hale of North Little Rock, Patricia Nunes of Maumelle, Virginia Berry of Beebe, Vivian Stouffer of California, Doris Moore and Paula Pinero of Beebe, many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society. He will be interred at the Arkansas Veterans Memorial Gardens in North Little Rock on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at 10:00 A.M.
