Douglas Bryan Wilson, age 60, of Bryant, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021. He was born September 28, 1961 in Carlisle, Arkansas to the late Connie and Bobby Wilson.
Doug is lovingly remembered by his wife of 37 years, Carol Wilson, his brother Dennis Wilson, his two daughters and sons-in-laws, Katy and Chris Smith and Lauren and Daniel Hawthorne. Pa will be greatly missed by his three grandchildren, Karsyn and Kori Smith and Cooper Hawthorne. He will be missed by his sisters-in-law Traci (Mike) Burnham and Susan (Steve) Bullington.
Doug was a life-long member of Salem United Methodist Church. Salem UMC was an important part of his life. Doug was very generous with his time and volunteer efforts. He served as a Sunday school teacher and mission trip leader in addition to being very active in the weekly services.
He was employed by Eco-lab for 12 years where he made a lasting impression on everyone he worked with and all of his customers. Doug went out of his way to ensure people did not just have what they needed but what would work best for them.
Doug’s greatest love was for his family. There was nothing he enjoyed more than camping with his brother, wife, kids, and grandkids. They fished and swam and played games in campgrounds and state parks all over Arkansas. He had a passion for the outdoors and loved spending every moment he could with his family.
We know he would not want us to wallow alone in our misery, so we are hosting a memorial party to rejoice in his life and toast to our memories. We hope you will come and pay your final respects to Doug with us. The memorial service will be held under the arbor at Salem United Methodist Church in Benton, Arkansas at 10:00 am on Saturday, October 2nd. The family will be at the family home following the service for anyone who would like to come by and share their memories.
Memorials can be made to Habitat for Humanity and CJCOHN.
