Dorthy B. Ward

Dorthy B. Ward, age 88, of Hot Springs, passed away, Tuesday, November 2, 2021.

Dorthy was born on December 6, 1932, in Hot Springs, the daughter of Robert Joe Koller and Holland E. Catlett Koller. On February 5, 1950, she married Alvin Ernest Ward who preceded her in death on June 23, 2009, they enjoyed 59 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her son, Terry Ernest Ward; one sister, Shirley Jane Hamilton; and three brothers, Billy Joe Koller, Robert Lee Koller and Donald Gean Koller.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many. Dorthy was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church and Morning Star United Methodist Church; she was a devoted Christian and loved to sing in the choir. Dorthy worked at National Rejectors and Wal-Mart for many years. She was a hard worker and loved spending time with family and friends. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the apple of her eye. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

She is survived by her children, Robert “Chuck” Ward of Malvern, Stephen Mark Ward of Royal, Kevin Eric Ward and Jlyn Bailey, both of Oklahoma City; her grandchildren, Lisa Marie Castle, Jason Ward, Tracy Ward, Lindsey Ward, Heather Nicole Ward, Adam Vail, Samantha Marie Ward and Dylan McKane Ward; numerous great-grandchildren; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Doyle Wayne and Evelena Koller of Hot Springs, Ronald Dean and Lou Koller of Hot Springs and Clifton Franklin and Grace Koller of Texarkana, Texas; her sister and brother-in-law, Frances Joyce “Judy” and Danny Hamilton of Hot Springs and brother-in-law, Womble Lee Hamilton of Hot Springs; nieces, nephews, extended family members and many good friends.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 7, 2021, in the Morning Star Cemetery with Pastor Laura Butkovic officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.
