Dorothy Mae Wirt, 96, of Sherwood, went to be with the Lord on September 9, 2008. Dorothy will always be remembered for her talents in gardening, interior design, and the beautiful meals she prepared for her family and friends. She was a devoted Christian and a charter member of the Runyan First Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Lelah Browning, her sister Audrey Carter, and brother Doyle Browning. Family members left to cherish her memory are two brothers; Ray Browning and wife Jeane of North Little Rock, and James Browning and wife Helen of Morrilton; two daughters Dana Houston and husband Henry of Houston, Texas, and Marti Parrish and husband Phil of Scottsdale Arizona; three grandchildren Kelly Whitley, Stephen Houston and wife Mimi, and Michael Parrish; three great grand daughters; Caroline Whitley, Marley Houston and Sadie Houston; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Monday September 15 at Runyan First Baptist Church 1061 Jacksonville Cato Road, Sherwood, AR with the Reverend Charles Mays officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the Church service. Internment will follow at Edgewood Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Ray Browning, Henry Houston, Phil Parrish, Glenn Chesney, Stephen Houston, and Michael Parrish.
The daughters would like to give special thanks to their uncle and aunt Ray and Jeane Browning and neighbors Glenn and Lois Chesney whose help allowed mother to stay in her home for many years.
