Dorothy Jean Wallace, 81, of Little Rock, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2008 at Hospice Home Care Inpatient Facility following a lengthy illness. Preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Ada R. Husky Burns and her husband of fifty years, David C. Wallace, Sr., she is survived by her son, David C. Wallace, Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia and a host of family and friends.
Dorothy attended Little Rock High School and retired from Southwestern Bell after thirty-five years of service. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and the Windsong Church of Christ.
She was a loving, most gracious and giving person who enjoyed visiting with her large circle of friends. She often traveled to Gulf Shores, Alabama with her close friends, Charles and JoAnn Burks.
Many thanks and great appreciation is extended to the nurses and staff of Hospice Home Care, members of Windsong Church of Christ, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Burks, Margaret and T.J. Raney, Thelma Bradford, Wendy Brunson, Jean Waterloo, Sarah Mosley and Aletha Sneed.
There will be visitation on Sunday, December 7, from 6-8 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), Little Rock. The service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 8 at the funeral home, officiated by John Gipson, followed by burial in Roselawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Windsong Church of Christ, 3 Windsong, Maumelle, AR 72113.
