Dorothy Elizabeth Sawatski, Professor Emeritus of Music at UALR. Born in Little Rock, September 20, 1925 to Nettie Barley and John Thomas Lusk.
She was preceded in death by Carl E. Sawatksi , husband and son John P. Sawatski.
She is survived by one son, Charles David Sawatski, wife Jennifer, one daughter-in-law Treva Sawatski, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren, one sister, Mary Ann Stevens and husband Frank.
Memorial service will be held at Pulaski Heights Methodist Church, Tuesday, December 30th at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to UALR, Dorothy Sawatski Scholarship Fund.
She was the founder of UALR programs in Voice , Opera, and Musical Theatre.
During her fifty years of teaching, Professor Sawatski touched the lives of students who have gone on to careers as professional musicians and teachers all over the world.
