Dorothy O'Daniel

Dorothy Louanna O’Daniel passed away Sunday 12/8/2024 at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. Dorothy was born 10/30/1960 in Los Angeles, California to John Andrew and Carolyn Dorothy (Cheke) Fisk.

Dorothy grew up in Fredericktown Missouri. Throughout her early adult life, as a single mom, she worked hard and made a home for her and her son in several different places such as Davenport Iowa, St Joseph Michigan, the Atlanta Georgia area and the New Orleans Louisiana area. She eventually settled in Batesville, Arkansas in 1993 where she met and married her husband, Phillip. She worked as the night auditor/assistant manager at Ramada Inn until she went back to school and earned her associates degree in accounting from Gateway Technical College (now UACCB) in 1995. From there she worked as the office manager for Aycock/Lakeside Motors in Batesville, AR and went on to retire from Sol Alman in Little Rock.

Dorothy spent her time enjoying life with family and friends. She had a very special close relationship with her granddaughter, Zoe. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. She enjoyed making new friends, striking up and enjoying conversations with total strangers, helping anyone in need, binging TV shows with and being spoiled by her husband. Mostly she was known for simply “showing up” for people she cared about. One could always count on her to be there. She loved an array of things such as music of all genres, comedy shows, live theater, adventure, hiking, traveling, being pampered at various salons, fine dining, animal rescue or simply reading and relaxing on her home's back deck that she so proudly designed and decorated.

She will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her and experiencing her kind heart.

She leaves behind her husband and best friend, Phillip O’Daniel of Little Rock Arkansas, a sister Laura Fisk of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and a half brother Kevin Fisk of Arnold, Missouri, one son Kevin (Megan) Porter of Jackson, Michigan, two stepdaughters Jessica (Trey) Harris of Medina, Tennessee & Jennifer Russell of Searcy, Arkansas, seven Grandchildren, Coda Uffman, Zoe Porter, Grainger, Gracelynn and Fletcher Harris, Addison Russell and Carson Jones, one niece Amy (Trevor) Armstrong of Bryant, Arkansas, one nephew Marcus Fisk of Grain Valley, Missouri, three great nephews Jonathan, Austin and Brayden Armstrong and a very special lifelong friend, Tracy Porter of Jackson, Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother William (Willie) Fisk. Grandparents Ernest and Ethel Fisk and Andrew and Dorothy Cheke.

Dorothy had such a big heart for abused, abandoned and neglected animals. She gave somany of them a happy loving forever home over the years. Because of that, we are asking that In lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to The Humane Society or any local animal shelter of your choice.
