Dorothy Jean Joshlin Murry of North Little Rock went to be with her Lord and Master Tuesday May 12th 2015. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband and best friend of over 52 years, the Rev. George W. Murry, and her mother Thelma Hardcastle Joshlin Stermoan and her husband Clayton and her birth father Eugene Joshlin.
Dorothy is survived by her two sons, Rich Murry and his wife Rita of Dallas TX and Rob Murry and his wife Vicki also of Dallas TX.
She is survived by her brother Carl Edward Joshlin, of Lackland FL and Irma Ruth Mann, and her husband Homer of Haughton LA.
She had such a full and wonderful family. She is survived by her grandchildren, Chad Murry and his wife Irma of Start LA, Heath Murry of Dallas TX, Stephanie Murry and Carolyn Graves of Dallas TX, Amber Murry Carter of Conway AR, Jeremy Rupert and his wife Jonda of North Little Rock AR and Amy Weatherly and her husband Harold of Dallas TX.
Her great grandchildren are Mckenna Murry Hollis and her husband Buddy of Mangham LA Elizabeth and Olivia Carter, of North Little Rock AR, Kaden and Beckham Murry of Dallas TX, Faith Weatherly of Dallas TX, Parker Rupert of North Little Rock AR., Rudy Basulto of Start LA, and Tyler and Zeandra Ragan of Start LA.
She is survived by her great great grandchildren Shaun Michael Hollis of Mangham LA and Rowan Ragan of Start LA. and many nieces and nephews.
After graduating from North Little Rock Senior High she attended Southwestern Assemblies of God College in Waxahachie TX, and later in life graduated from Arkansas State Teachers College in Conway AR. She married her high school sweetheart whom she met at her home church First Assembly of God in North Little Rock and started her family while in college in Waxahachie.
She taught in the Little Rock Public School system for many years.
She served with her husband as a ministry team for over 40 of her married years, and another 13 years after her husband passed away. She taught a Sunday school class which became a small congregation in itself for many years, then worked in "First Look", as a point person for new comers after each service. Ministry was her life and passion.
As a little girl she was called by her Lord and Savior into service and ministry. God provided the perfect man to become her husband, friend and travel partner and they served the Lord with all of their hearts. She was honored to be known as Mom, Nina, and Sister Dorothy. She impacted the lives of all whom she touched.
Services will be held Saturday May 16 at 11:00 at the First Assembly of God Church in North Little Rock AR. Rev. Rod Loy will be officiating along with Rev. Alton Garrison. Pallbearers will be Rev. Gary Tomlinson, Rev. Timothy Hill, Rev. Parker Loy, Rev. Brian Dollar, Rev. Randy Jumper, Rev. Patrick Lander. Visitation will be today, Friday May 15 between 6:00 and 8:00 pm at the church.
