Dorothy Gean Morris

Dorothy Gean Morris was born on November 11, 1930 and passed on to her heavenly reward on March 29, 2023. She is survived by her five children, Ronald (Twila) Morris, Rev. Keith (Nita) Morris, Lynn (Vanessa) Morris, Susan (Jim) Baughman, and Marsha Perrymore; 15 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her devoted husband of 68 years, Clarence Morris, and daughter Sharon Blakley.

Dorothy was a Proverbs 31 woman in every aspect. She was virtuous, strong, and selfless, always making God and her family her priorities. When the grandchildren were small she would regularly cook lunch for the whole family after Sunday morning service. No one could fry potatoes like she could. She worked many hours and days cooking and serving for church functions and Calvary Academy. In addition to cooking she loved canning, quilting, reading, and writing Scriptures. She once copied the entire Bible by hand.


Dorothy had a servant’s heart, willing hands, and a kind and gentle spirit. She was of the Pentecostal faith and a faithful member of First Pentecostal Church of North Little Rock. What a legacy she has left for our family. We will miss her every day, but we know she lived her whole life preparing for the moment she would meet King Jesus.

Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Monday, April 3, 2023 at First Pentecostal Church.  Funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at the church with burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Lonoke.
