Dorothy Moore

Dorothy Chapman Jones Moore, 92, of Sherwood, Arkansas passed away February 27, 2025. She was born January 25, 1933 in Scott, Arkansas to the late Robert and Beulah Chapman. 

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband of 44 years, Ray Jones; second husband, Billy Moore; siblings, Bobby (Lillian) Chapman, Emmett (Ramona) Chapman, Carl (Paulette) Chapman, Wendell Chapman, and Odis Chapman. She is survived by her children, Diana Camp (Jim) and Warren Jones; grandson, Seth Gottsponer; brother, Donald Chapman (Teresa) and sister, Kathleen Adams; as well as her sisters-in-law, Louise Chapman and Mollie Chapman.

All those that knew Dorothy, knew of her love for flowers, catfish, and Cardinal baseball. She was a wonderful cook, known for her chicken and dressing, banana pudding and coconut pie. The oldest of eight children, she was raised chopping cotton alongside her family and could outwork the best gardener on any day. Dorothy was a loving mother and enjoyed a special relationship with her only grandchild, Seth. She was a devoted church member and faithfully attended Highway Baptist Church in her later years.
