Dorothy Sue McKinnon Davis, age 82, of Amity, passed away on Monday, February 28, 2022.

 

She was born on April 1, 1939, in Langley, the daughter of Lloyd Burt McKinnon and Essie Whisenhunt McKinnon.  On June 1, 1953, she was married to the love of her life, John Davis, who preceded her in death on January 12, 2010.  She was also preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Brinda Woodall; and her great-great-granddaughter, Ella Grace McCauley.

 

Dorothy’s greatest joy in life was taking care of her family, especially when she was rocking and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she adored.  Her life was truly dedicated to loving each and every member of her family.

 

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Toni Davis; her daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Brock Parton; her granddaughters and their spouses, Jennifer and James Tidwell, Sandra Davis and Haley and Davey Foley; her grandsons, Johnny Woodall, T.J. and Lahoma Hembey and Bruce Davis, Jr.; her great-grandchildren and their spouses, Melea Harding, Dalton and Kobie Floyd, Johnna and her fiancée, Justin Addy, Allison and Andy McCauley, Andrew and Erica Tidwell, Johnny Tidwell, Cheyenne Parton, Blake Parton, Levi Foley, Colton Tidwell, Hayden Tidwell, Lauren and Joseph Brewer and K-Brin Jordan; her great-great-grandchildren, Axel Brewer, Emmeryn Jordan and the anxiously awaited, James Kreed Floyd; her sister, Mildred Reid; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

 

Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, March 3, 2022, in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bro. Tony Hill officiating.

 

Visitation will be held Wednesday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home.

 

Interment will be in the Jones Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers will be Richard Forrest, Andrew Tidwell, Dalton Floyd, T.J. Hembey, Bruce Davis, Jr. and Davey Foley.

 

Honorary pallbearers will be Marion Reid, Edwin Reid, James Tidwell, Steve Davis, Larry Davis and Johnny Woodall.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Dorothy to the Jones Cemetery fund.
