Dorothy Marie Smith of Little Rock died January 3, 2011. She was born April 20, 1937 to Peter and Rose Kopacz Raczkowski in North Little Rock. She attended the Cathedral of St. Andrew for the past 18 years. Dorothy was a 1955 graduate of Mount St. Mary Academy and will be greatly missed by her classmates and friends. She also attended Southern Methodist University where she was a straight "A" student. During her life in Dallas, Texas, she worked for Westinghouse, U. S. Title and the Dallas Independent School District. Her greatest joy in life was her church and family.
She is survived by two sons, George Smith and Major Peter Smith, USAR (Kitty), both of Dallas, Texas; one daughter, Cecelia Smith of Dallas; one brother, Bill Raczkowski (Jodie), of Tulsa, Oklahoma; former husband, George W. Smith (Nita); one grandson, Brandon Smith, of Dallas; one granddaughter, Kori Smith, of Alabama; and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by one brother, Sylvester Raczkowski.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 10, 2011 at the Cathedral of St. Andrew (617 South Louisiana Street, Little Rock, AR 72201) with Rev. Charles Kanu serving as celebrant. Interment will follow at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery in the Marche Community. There will be no visitation.
