Dorothy Jane Sanders, 93 of Conway, entered her heavenly home on Monday, August 8. She was born January 11, 1923 in Hector, Arkansas to J.C. and Ada Poe. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lawrence and a son, Joseph Leland, and a granddaughter, Melissa Burrow, 2 brothers and three sisters. Dorothy was a member of Truth Seekers class and Second Baptist Church where she and her husband developed a prayer ministry in 1992 and both were considered to be prayer warriors for many years. In recent days that ministry continued as she resided at Salem Place. In the 1960’s she worked at Sterlings in Conway where she made lifelong friends before moving to Texas for several years and returned to Conway in 1991.

She is survived by a son, Jim Sanders (Sandra) of Conway; daughter, Debbie Allen (Blaine) of Starkville, MS; daughter, Brenda Honza (Willie Joe) of League City TX; a niece who was like a daughter, Tina Walls (J.S) of Harrisburg , AR; 6 grandchildren, Jimmy, April, Carrie Anne, Brian, Amy and Chris; 10 great grandchildren, Jeremy, Brayden, Delia, Alyssa, Damien, Angel, Austin, Jasmine, David and Anne; 3 great-great grandchildren, Micaela, Mikenzie, and Aiden.

Special thanks to the nurses and attendants of Salem Place in Conway for their compassionate and loving care during her year spent with them.

Visitation at Griffin Leggett, Friday August 12 from 12-2 and service will follow. Burial at Oakland Cemetery, Russellville. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the building fund at 2nd Baptist Church in Conway, AR, or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
