DOROTHY GORDON RHODES HOLT, 89, of Little Rock, passed away at St. Vincent's Infirmary on Wednesday, September 10, 2008.
She was born on February 10, 1919 in Crowley, Louisiana to Stanley and Ethel Rhodes. Her older sister, Marian died in 2003 and her younger sister Helen, survives her. They moved to Arkansas during her childhood. She married Harlan Holt in 1940 and they had three sons, Ronald, Gordon and Stanley.
She lived in Little Rock all of her adult life. Harlan preceded Dorothy in death in 2003. She leaves her three sons and seven grandchildren, Mark, Sarah, Rachel, Caroline, Christa, Andrew, and Harrison, and two great grandchildren, Savannah and Koda.
Mrs. Holt was very active all of her life in serving people, not only in the churches she was a part of, but, in foreign trips to minister personally in many parts of the world. There will be a visitation on Friday (this evening), from 6-8 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Court,(NW corner of I-630 and Barrow Rd.) Little Rock. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, at 11 a.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. Bill Viser. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery, Pine Bluff.
