Dorothy Gold

Dorothy "Fay" Gold, age 78, of Lonoke, went to be with the Lord on the morning of June 6, 2018, with her family by her side. Fay was born to the late Robert and Susie Horton on December 7, 1939 in Bayou Meto, AR. She graduated from Lonoke High School at the age of 16, then married her lifelong companion, William Gold. They recently celebrated 62 years of marriage.

She thoroughly enjoyed her career as a civilian employee at the Little Rock Airforce Base, during which time she received many awards of excellence for her accomplished services. She was an avid gardener, finding immense joy in being surrounded by the beauty of God's creation. Above all, Fay regarded her role as a pastor's wife to be of the highest importance. She devoted herself for many years as a cornerstone of her husband's ministry and the congregations they served.

Fay was preceded in death by her brothers Dwayne and Robert Horton, and her sister Virginia Bowden. She is survived by her husband Reverend William Gold, her brothers Burnis and Kenneth Horton, and her sisters Betty Ann Paddock and Jean Costa. She is also survived by her four children: Dwight Gold (Susie), Janet King (Calvin), Sheila Lynch (Roger), and Tammy Gold, all of Lonoke; as well as 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 1 expectant great-grandchild, and 2 expectant great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Grace Chapel Baptist Church, followed by a memorial service at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Fay wished that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Arkansas Children's Foundation of Arkansas Children's Hospital.
