Dorothy Sewell Gill, 94, passed away Saturday, August 12, 2006. She was born in Memphis, Tennessee on July 9, 1912. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, William A. Sewell and Mary Ann Sewell; her husband, Jerry Gill; and her sisters, Virginia Sewell and Nancy Sewell Gann. She was dearly loved by her family and will be greatly missed. Her sweet and loving ways will always be remembered by all who knew her.
Dorothy grew up in Memphis, Tennessee where her family attended the Decatur Street Christian Church where she accepted Christ into her life. In Little Rock, she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her three children: son, Sam Gill and his wife, Nancy, of Novato, California; son, Jerome Gill of Little Rock; and daughter, Jerre Ann Jones of Little Rock; two grandsons, Sam Gill, Jr. of San Rafael, California and Jonathan Jones of Little Rock; granddaughter, Ellen Locins and her husband, James; two great-grandchildren, Andrew Kocins and Kate Kocins, all of Danville, California. She also leaves her loving toy poodle, Buttons, who brought much joy into her life. He will miss his Gran.
The family would like to thank Ollie (Suzanne) McDowell, her caregiver, for her loving ways. They would also like to thank Dr. Scott Brown and Arkansas Hospice.
A Graveside Funeral Service will be held at Roselawn Cemetery on Tuesday, August 15, 2006, at 9:00 a.m., with the Minister of the First Presbyterian Church, Reverend Al Henager, officiating.
