Dorothy Irene Gallaugher Ellison, 92, Little Rock, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 13, 2014. She was born in Zion, Illinois on August 16, 1921. She was preceded in death by her father, George Merle Gallaugher; mother, Anna Schleter Gallaugher; and three brothers, George Gallaugher, Roger Gallaugher and Richard Gallaugher. Her beloved husband of 66 years, Charles A. Ellison, died in May 2010. She is survived by daughter, Karen A. Stanley of Indianapolis, Indiana; son, Charles D. Ellison of Little Rock; grandson, Joshua T. Ellison of Little Rock; and their families and friends.

She lived most of her life in Illinois, Mississippi and Arkansas. She was a wonderful, kind and supportive wife, mother, friend, colleague and often a volunteer within her church. Dorothy played significant roles in various family businesses as well as for other employers. She retired in 1983 from her position of administrative assistant in the Office of Student Affairs at UALR. After retirement, she and husband Chuck enjoyed travel, spending time with family and artistic pursuits such as stained glass and watercolor painting.

A private family service will be held in the near future.
