Dorothy Carlisle

Dorothy L. Carlisle, 84, of Beebe, Arkansas, was born December 2, 1928, at Pine Valley, Oklahoma, and she died Wednesday, September 25, 2013. She was a teacher at Beebe Public Schools for twenty-five years and at Hickory Plains Public Schools for three years. A member of Beebe First United Methodist Church and an avid golfer, she enjoyed gardening and loved caring for her grandchildren.
Dorothy is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, Morris Carlisle; daughters Vicky Davis of Sherwood, and Jan (Ed) Price of Beebe; son Jerry (Suzanne) Carlisle of Little Rock; four grandchildren, Brian (Christie) Campbell, Erin (Kristi) Price, Caryn (Randy) Metcalf, and Chris (Abby) Britt; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Lillie Bell (Harder) Walters; two brothers, Guy and Jack Walters; and one sister, Christine Wilson; and one grandson, Jared Price. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 247, Beebe, AR 72012, or Hickory Plains Methodist Church Building Fund, 9952 Hwy. 13 N., Carlisle, AR 72024.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral will be 1:00 p.m.
Saturday, September 28, 2013, at Beebe First United Methodist Church,
with burial in Hickory Plains Cemetery.
