Dorothy C. Burns, 91 of Little Rock died on Saturday, October 25, 2014. Dorothy Rose was born to William Thomas and Mary Stein Judge in 1923. Her parents later divorced and her mother married Rupert Champion. She grew up as Dorothy Rose Champion. Dorothy graduated in 1940 from Little Rock High School. She was married to Jack Burns for 65 years.

She is survived by Kitty Rose Schieck (Jim) of Plano, TX, Becky Martin (Ted) of Clinton, AR, Charles B. Burns (Lindy) of Sherwood, AR, and Barbara Barnett (Jerry) of Little Rock, AR; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, with a great-grandson on the way. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Hamilton Burns, Sr. infant son, Jack Hamilton Burns, Jr, and sister, Elizabeth Frederickson and her parents.

Dorothy was a longtime member of 2nd Baptist Church and became a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in the 70's. She served in the two year old Sunday School for at least five decades and in Womens Missionary Union. Dorothy was a member of the Little Rock Cosmopolitan Club, and Life Member of the P.T.A. at Woodruff, Pulaski Heights and Central High School. Dorothy was known as "The Card Lady", because she always acknowledged special occasions of family and friends

The family wishes to thank her faithful caregivers, Mae, Pam, Angela, Louise and Theresa.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 28th at Immanuel Baptist Church with Reverend Rick Jaggers officiating. Visitation will be held prior to services starting at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Alexander, AR.

Memorials may be made to Tele-Bible at Immanuel Baptist Church, 501 N. Shackleford Rd, Little Rock, AR 72211, Pulaski County Humane Society, 14600 Colonel Glenn Rd, Little Rock, AR 72210, or to one's favorite charity.
