Dorothy Wofford Elliot Allen, age 79 of The Woodlands, TX formerly of Arkadelphia died Wednesday, August 1, 2007.
She was born February 19, 1928 to Marshall Randolph and Solecia Wofford. She was raised in Arkadelphia, Arkansas and lived there most of her life. She moved to Houston in 1972, but nonetheless considered Arkansas her home. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Louis Edward ("Buster") Elliot and her late husband Roy Allen. She is also preceded in death by her brother M. R. ("Junior") Wofford, and her sister Irma Dean Wofford. She lost her eldest daughter, Brenda, to cancer two years ago.
She is survived by her daughter, Debra Jordan and husband, John, of Montgomery, Texas; her brother, Bobby Wofford and wife, Barbara, of Arkadelphia, and sisters, Frances Buck of Arlington, Texas and Christine Baumann of Redfield, Arkansas. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law, Jo Ann Wofford of Arkadelphia, and son-in-law, Bill Bridges also of Arkadelphia. Dorothy has four grandchildren, Marshall, Katelyn, Chuck and Jennifer, several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 PM on Friday, August 3, 2007 at the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Saturday in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Arkadelphia.
