Doris L. Remer Williams, 80, of Benton, Arkansas passed from this earth and entered Heaven’s gates April 5, 2022. She was born October 11, 1941 in Gillespie, Illinois.
Doris was known to many as “Nan”. She loved children and had a home daycare for many years. Doris loved writing poetry and adored animals. She was a member of New Life Missionary Baptist Church in Benton, Arkansas.
Preceding Doris in death are her father, Elmer L. Remer; mother, Iva. L. Remer; and brothers: Leo Remer and LeRoy Remer.
Doris is survived by her son, Chris L. Williams and wife Marla of Carlisle, Arkansas; daughter, Tracy L. Rogers and husband Bill of Austin, Arkansas; granddaughter, Ashley B. Butler and husband Brandon; grandson, Hunter J. Williams and wife Morgan; step-grandson, Ryleigh Cunningham and wife Hannah; step-granddaughter, Reghann Cunningham along with six great grandchildren and one on the way; and many more family members and friends who love Doris and will miss her always.
Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM, Friday, April 8 at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market Street, Benton, Arkansas. Funeral service, officiated by Bro. Bob Warford, will be held at 11:30 AM, Saturday, April 9 at Smith-Benton Funeral Home. Burial following at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Alexander, Arkansas.
Memorials may be made to Arkansas Children’s Hospital, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or your local animal shelter.
