Doris “Annette” Partridge Wehunt, age 63, of Caddo Gap, passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2023.
She was born on January 14, 1960, in Hot Springs, the daughter of Jesse Morgan Partridge and Edna Marks Partridge. She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents, who raised her, Jesse and Ruth Partridge and Elgy and Mary Marks; her aunt, who was more like her sister, Mary Jester; and her uncle, Clifford Marks. On May 13, 1978, she was married to the true love of her life, Glenn Wehunt.
At the young age of 3, following the death of her mother, Annette was raised in Gurdon by her paternal grandparents, who were pastors in the Assemblies of God, and was assisted in her raising by her maternal grandparents. She was a 1978 graduate of Gurdon High School. Annette was always a strong woman, who conquered through the power of God, suffering through tuberculosis as a child, as well as lupus as a young adult. Always raised in church, she enjoyed singing and playing the piano her entire life and was the worship leader in church most of her life. She also taught various Sunday School classes, children, and teen groups, and led the women’s ministry throughout the years. She was a current member of the New Life Assembly of God Church in Norman, where her husband, Glenn, currently pastors.
For thirteen years she was a teacher at the Glenwood Christian School, where she was fondly known as Ms. Annette, and loved her students and cherished the many memories she made throughout her years at the school. She was always on top of lending a helping hand to those in need, whether it was with her amazing southern cooking, an open ear to listen, or as a prayer warrior. Above all else, Annette was a wonderful and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who cherished her children and grandchildren, always seeing to their upbringing and every need they may have.
Annette is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Glenn Wehunt of Caddo Gap; her son, Hunter Wehunt of Glenwood; her daughter, Savannah VanderMeid of Glenwood; her granddaughter and grandson, both in her care, Marissa VanderMeid and Andrew VanderMeid, of Caddo Gap; her grandson, Glen VanderMeid of Glenwood; her uncle, who was more like her brother, Danny Partridge and his wife, Phyllis, of Little Rock; her two brothers and their spouses, Steve and Joyce Partridge of Leola and Tim and Jeanna Partridge of Sheridan; her stepmother, Elaine Partridge of Sheridan; her aunt, Vada Smithpeters of Rogers; her uncle, Avon Marks of Gurdon, and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 27, 2023, in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood with Bro. Ron Tilley and Bro. Vernon Wehunt officiating.
Visitation will be held Friday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Black Springs Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Marty Waggoner, Keith Smithpeters, Kevin Smithpeters, Steve Partridge, Tim Partridge and Danny Partridge.
Honorary pallbearers will be her many past students and teachers of the Glenwood Christian School, who gave her many happy years that she has always held on to and never forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Annette to the Glenwood Christian School, 608 North Clay Street, Glenwood, AR 71943.
