Doris Robinson

Doris Elizabeth Sherry Robinson passed away May 5, 2015. She was born to the late Minnie Morgan Sherry and Abe Gregory Sherry in Little Rock, Arkansas on December 16, 1922. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Betty Sherry Trippe.

Doris had an interesting life traveling all over the world with her Air Force husband during and after World War II. She was a Red Cross Volunteer and a Grey Lady serving both in the United States and abroad.

After her husband's retirement, they returned to Little Rock where she became involved in many civic activities including the Art Center, the Fine Arts Club, Pleasant Valley Garden Club, Pleasant Valley Bridge Club, and Forty Listeners Book Club. She was an active member of St. James United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her lifelong friend and husband of 72 years, General Ray A. Robinson and her three daughters whom she adored: Sherry Diane Robinson Duffus-Martin, husband Jim of Greenville, North Carolina, grandson, John David Duffus III of Raleigh, North Carolina, granddaughter, Megan Elizabeth Duffus Dellinger, husband Dean, great-granddaughters Elizabeth and Emerson, all of Atlanta, Georgia; daughter, Lisa Lou Robinson Polk, husband, Frank of Marvell, Arkansas, granddaughter Rebecca Pauline Polk Scaife, husband Jeremy, great-granddaughter Kaitlyn, great-grandson Tyler, all of Little Rock, granddaughter, Renee Elizabeth Polk Sheppard, husband Jon, great-grandson Myers, and twin great-granddaughters Alex and Marian, all of Texarkana, Texas, grandson Franklin Robinson (Robbie) Polk and wife Leah of Marvell, Arkansas; and daughter, Lori Lea Robinson Plugge, husband David of Little Rock, and granddaughter Rae Elizabeth Plugge of Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Funeral services will be held at St. James United Methodist Church, 321 Pleasant Valley Dr., on Saturday, May 9 at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Dr. Blake Bradford. Pallbearers will be Jim Martin, Trey Duffus, Robbie Polk, Jon Sheppard, Jeremy Scaife, Dean Dellinger, David Plugge, Frank Polk. Honorary pallbearers will be John Parker, Harry Hastings and Paul Hastings.
