Doris E. Brockinton

On Sunday December 11, 2022, Doris Earlene Brockinton, 81, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer and heart disease.

Born to Lottie Mae and Raymond Whitfield, Doris was a beloved wife, mother, and “Nanny” to her five grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was married to Charles Brockinton for almost 63 years, and she had no greater joy than loving and celebrating her family.

Thanks to her passion for family photos and scrapbooking, her family will be able to relive the many wonderful memories they have all built together over the years.

Doris brought so much fun to everything we did. She loved shopping and lunching with her sisters and cheering on her children and grandchildren in all their endeavors; she was a light to everyone she met. She was a long-time member of The Community of Christ Church, Levy. You would rarely find her without a smile on her face.

Doris is survived by her husband, Charles, their children, Sonia (Chris) Herring and Chuck (Molly) Brockinton, five grandchildren, Jessica (Andrew) Watson, Al Herring, Hannah (Cody) Nichols, Ben (Lindsay) Brockinton, and Emily Brockinton, and one great-grandchild, Emmett Brockinton, as well as four of her five sisters, who she loved very much.

Visitation will be 2:00-4:00 PM, Sunday, December 18, 2022 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home. Funeral will be 10:30 AM, Monday, December 19, 2022 at Bayou Meto Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Harmony Cemetery. Pallbearers include: Rodger King, Rodney Heslep, Andrew Watson, Michael Hutchins, Mark Hutchins and Brian Spears.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to CARTI, the American Heart Association, or the Pulaski County Humane Society.
