Doris McGinnis Butler passed away on August 24, 2007 after a sixteen month battle with breast cancer. Doris was best known for her beauty, wit, and charismatic personality. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed her friends, her home, and traveling.
In Doris?s early years, she was an accomplished hair dresser who fully enjoyed and took pride in her work. After retiring from the beauty business she spent time working at her husband, Dr. John E. Butler?s dental office. She enjoyed spending as much time as possible with her grand daughter, Kristen. Doris became a successful land developer and was still in the process of developing Horseshoe Lake Estates in Scott, Arkansas at the time of her death.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. John E. Butler; parents, Lil C. Byford and Velma (Peebles) Byford; two brothers, H.A. Byford & Skip Byford.
She leaves behind her daughter, Nena Patterson of Maumelle; son, Marty McGinnis of Maumelle; daughter, Shelly Gilmore of Greers Ferry; three grandchildren, Kristen, Brandon and Hannah McGinnis; two sisters, Janie Day of Alabama, Bobbi & husband John Smith of Alabama; brother, Billy Byford of Florida; numerous nieces and nephews.
Doris will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. Her daughter, Nena, wishes to thank Dr. Dana Abraham, CARTI of Little Rock, and Dr. Diane Wilder and her wonderful staff. A visitation will be Monday @ the North Little Rock Funeral Home from 5:30 to 7:30 P.M. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Susan G.
